The Nevada State Trap Association Board of Directors would like to thank all those that participated this year making the Nevada State Shoot a success. Numbers were up slightly over last year, thanks to all that took the time to attend.
For those of you that attended this years as well as past Nevada State Shoots know you couldn't ask for better weather. Unlike recent years we didn't have any rain or snow.
Moe Matys and his staff at Spring Creek Trap and Skeet did an excellent job pulling the shoot together. Targets were well thrown and the steak dinner with all the trimmings on Saturday night was very well done.
Out of state shooter, Vince McNamara from California told me he hit a milestone of 100,000 targets at this years shoot. Vince has been attending for several years now, congratulation Vince and hope to see you at next years shoot.
The Board would also like to thank all the SCTP shooters and parents for attending. There were teams represented during Saturdays Nevada State Championship Singles event from Las Vegas , Fallon, Elko, Yearington, and Reno . These young shooters compete in three divisions, varsity, intermediate advanced and rookie . This competition allows Nevada teams participating in the state title shoot to qualify for the SCTP National Championships to be held at the World Shooting and Recreational Complex in Sparta Ill.
The Board consisting of Tony Delefontie – President, Linda Hand – Vice President, Jim Meeks – Treasure/Secretary, Pam Fine, Randy Long, and John Hebert all did a great job. Their efforts resulted in very good trophy package for both in and out of state shooters as well as putting together the program and a well run shoot. Tell them thanks along with what you like and disliked about the shoot so they can work on making next years shoot even better.
